Methodology

DISCOVERY

Data gathering and interviewing key stakeholders about your company's mission, values and business goals are our first steps. This information drives the metrics of the plan and starts to shape ideas about programs that could support your mission and values.

ANALYSIS

What do claims and financial reports tell us? What programs should be optimized to gain the greatest ROI with the smallest impact on employees? How effective has each program been? What does the employee survey reveal?

Analysis of all aspects of your benefits program, and specifically the data associated with key metrics, will provide clear answers and input for the planning process. We'll also review trend reports and conduct a benchmark study.

PLAN DESIGN

Here's where it all comes together — the analysis, your company's mission, values and goals, and the overriding imperative for employee benefits plans to do more with less.

We'll work closely with you to develop a three- to five-year strategic plan, a one-year tactical plan and accompanying metrics. This will be a highly collaborative process that, if you like, can include assistance from us in securing the approval of senior management.

PLAN IMPLEMENTATION

Many firms stop at simply communicating the features of a plan to employees, and that's unfortunate. You'll get a better ROI, and your employees will experience less out-of-pocket expense, if you go a step further and actually educate them about the proper use of the plan.

To do this, we develop highly instructional materials that are written in layman's terms and are made available via multiple channels — offline, online and in-person. We even attach a metric to this phase to measure our effectiveness.

MANAGE

Even day-to-day management of your plan is measureable. One example is the Customer Service Activity Report. This report tracks every service-related inquiry your Benefits Advocate receives along with its timely resolution.

MONITOR, MEASURE AND ADJUST

Regular reports on key metrics and data points will help identify opportunities as well as vulnerabilities, early. This includes reviewing claims trends and using predictive modeling to project your renewal costs. With this actionable data at hand, we can work together to quickly adjust programs or implement new programs to optimize the financial performance of the plan.
